The being who brought Anthony to Pangera is the ancient monster Odren

Anthony refers to this being as Gandalf, because his voice sounds like a wise old man, but their conversations have confirmed that that isn't his name. "Gandalf" claims to be able to find out anything within the purview of the System, but still speaks of being subject to it, if barely, and of having others in a similar position. He also says that if Anthony descends far enough into the Dungeon, they might meet in person. And Odren's epithet is "father of monsters". The cults' writings about the Ancients mention that Odren sometimes appears in dreams as a wise old man. Also, another reincarnator, Odin Malum, when he evolves, is seen to visit Arconidem the demon god, who is certainly an Ancient, in a similar way to how Anthony visits "Gandalf".
