WMG / Chronicle of the Annoying Quest

Go To

WMG for Chronicleofthe Annoying Quest. Potential unmarked spoilers ahead.

The group will succeed at killing Dirim, but they’ll find out their whole quest is All for Nothing.
The driving force for each of the cast is related to Dirim in some form or fashion, but all of them have undergone various changes that might render the point of their quest utterly meaningless. That, and the world around them has clearly changed since the start of their quest, meaning certain things (and locations for that matter) they’ve fought for might also be pointless. A guess for some of their fates:
  • Ellers: Will either not be able to drag Dirim’s head back to Stormwind, thus making it impossible for him to prove he completed the quest. Or even if he does, he’ll find out the Pious Patron Bar doesn’t exist anymore due to the Cataclysm (and Deathwing) destroying it. And even if the bar somehow still exists, the patrons will STILL probably be jerks and not let him in.
    • Although Laser-Guided Karma might occur if Ellers turns out to have become much stronger than the patrons of the PPB due to his quest, beats the crap out of all of them for their Snipe Hunt, and ends up gaining more fame than they ever do as a result of his quest, thus meaning he doesn’t have to bother with them anymore.
      • Or nobody believes him and he goes on a rampage, and gets arrested...with the Big Tauren guy from Episode 8.5 as his cell mate.
  • Guy: On top of the whole quest being rendered possibly pointless due to the above, possibly resulting in a reference to quests being broken due to the quest objective/completion points no longer existing, Guy probably won’t even be able to get back INTO Stormwind due to him being a Blood Elf now.
  • Kit, Hana, and Flayme: Given That Teldrassil in canon is currently a burning husk right now, their aphrodisiac attempts might either be what is needed, or be useless since most Night Elves are potentially dead and thus there isn’t enough people left to give it to. Alternatively, it’s possible that the Burning of Teldrassil will be made into an alternate situation where it's ascribed to Kit’s rampage causing the fire to spread to the whole tree, thus rendering the trio fugitives, thus meaning they can’t ever return to Night Elf civilization.
    • or it turns out the aphrodisiac doesn’t even work, either because it never would have worked, or because they were supposed to kill a 2000+ year old dragon...of a completely different dragonflight.
