• The conflict between the Seska and the Homniks did not start off as male vs female but rather those who renounced technology and those who sought to preserve it. In the Homniks men gained the advantage and came to dominate due to their physical strength causing women to flee to the Seska where technology gave them more equality, each faction eventually becoming synonymous with gender.
