When it was revealed that the Straw Hats were alive and Luffy went to rescue them, he was able to dodge Barons´s arrows, because in his tranquil fury he subconsciously used Kenbunshoku Haki. This movie symbolizes Mamoru Hosoda's short time at Studio Ghibli.
Furthermore, it is speculated that Baron Omatsuri is a stand-in allegory for Hayao Miyazaki, though Hosoda does neither deny nor confirm this speculation whenever someone ask this question.
