In Littlefinger's letter to Catelyn, he reference Arya's attempted kidnapping. But if he was busy fleeing the city during the coup, how would he know about that? Because he was behind it! And likely attempted to capture Arya either to have leverage over the Starks or as a way to endear himself to Catelyn and Ned, because he could reframe it as a rescue instead of a kidnapping.
- This would definitely explain why Arya's attempted kidnapping was so much smarter than the attempts on everyone else.
- Cersei also never thinks about this plot during her POV section in Chapter 27.
Oberyn's hot-headedness and desire for revenge will lead to him to challenge Jon to a duel when he arrives in Dorne. If Oberyn wins, Jon will die for the sins of his parents. If Jon wins, Dorne will aid the Anti-Cersei League.
- Or maybe Enzo will serve as Jon's champion and we'll get a repeat of Oberyn vs A Very Large Man?
In Cersei's POV section of Chapter 27, she thinks of summoning Lancel. The last time she does this, Robert dies soon after. We can assume that, like in canon, Lancel got Robert extremely drunk on Cersei's orders, so he'd be more likely to meet his grizzly end. Cersei's choice to summon him again (or at least thinking about it), means she is planning on using him to kill someone else.
- Given the contention of the segment, Cersei probably wants to kill one of the members of the makeshift Small Council.
- Or maybe even Jaime! By the end of the chapter, she is clearly losing her trust and love for him.
- She is a big believer as well in using sex to undermine men, and if it does not work because he loves another, doubtful she would take it well. Cue trying to blackmail him with that she will make up various tales to her father, ruining things for the rest of Westeros.
- Because Awesome. But also because the author really loves her, wants her to have a larger role, and would really stick it to Catelyn and Sansa.
- The author loves messing with people's expectations, and would have fun turning around the show by having Jon have to keep secret he is not really a Targaryan since no one would believe him by this point, and needs to leverage that connection to try and stop a civil war. It was Rhaegar's intention, but turns out Jaime was right and it was really Arthur Dayne who is Jon's daddy, with all the 'proof' of him being a Targaryan really being from his own feats and being the Dragonborn.
- Elisif clearly cares for Jon, and planning for him to succeed her.
- Some information was getting back, and a certain 'fiance' of his has reason to mention the difficulties to see if more pressure can be leveraged.
- Daenerys grew into her own as the last of the Targaryens and the true heir to the Iron Throne. Then when she crosses the narrow sea into Westeros, she suddenly finds that not only is she not the last of her family the other Targaryen has a better claim to the throne with three dragons of his own no less. This combined with Jon not wanting her out of loyalty to Serana and his complete lack of interest in both Westeros and the Iron throne will cause the two Targaryens to come to blows
