Kit Jackson
Untameable is one of the many stories under the Choices: Stories You Play collection. It was released on February 25, 2022 for VIP players and released for everybody on April 15, 2022.
The sequel is titled "Unbridled: An Untameable Story", and was released on December 13, 2023 on Early Access, and on February 2, 2024 for everybody. The Early Access release ended on April 10, 2024 with the 19th and final chapter, aptly titled "Finale".
Upon returning to the family ranch, a recent graduate of agricultural business encounters new challenges and their old crush.
Untameable and Unbridled includes examples of:
- Alliterative Name: Mandy Martinez and Bryn Beltran, if you keep the default first and last name in Unbridled.
- Big Bad: Bryn's ex, Calloway Harper, is firmly established as this in Chapter 17 of Unbridled, as they try to force Bryn to come home one last time, before planning to have their father buy out the Martinez ranch out of spite when they refuse.
- Bisexual Love Triangle: Bryn is attracted to Ryder and Mandy.
- Character Customization: The player can choose Barret and Bryn's gender and ethnicity, including first and last names. Kit can be customizable in the same way, but the name and surname cannot be chosen. In Unbridled, the player can choose only Ryder's ethnicity.
- Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: After being a prominent character in Untameable, Austin is completely absent from Unbridled, with a brief conversation between Mandy and Bryn about why she and Austin broke up in Chapter 11 being the only time he's even mentioned.
- Color-Coded for Your Convenience: In Unbridled, romantic choices are marked with a blue heart for Ryder and a green heart for Mandy.
- Fanservice Cover: The cover above says it all.
- Forbidden Fruit: Barrett is like that for Kit. Both are in love with each other, but Kit tries to avoid it because he is best friends with Austin, who is Barret's brother.
- Gay Cowboy: If Barrett and Kit are both male and will that remind you of anything? If both are female, it will become a gender-inverted version. Ryder will also be one if Bryn is male and romances him.
- Hello, [Insert Name Here]: As with all Choices characters, you can name your character. The default name here is Barret Steele. Your horse's name can also be chosen and the default name is Buttercup. In Unbridled, the player can choose their character's first and last name, the default name is Bryn Beltran.
- Internal Reveal: At the end of Chapter 15, Austin finally finds out that Barret and Kit are together.
- My Sister Is Off-Limits: Austin vehemently refuses to let Kit date their sibling, no matter how much they want each other.
- New Season, New Name: In May 2023's Choices Insiders, it was revealed that, instead of being called "Untameable 2", the sequel will be called "Unbridled: An Untameable Story", possibly because the sequel is confirmed to focus on a different couple to Barret and Kit (while still taking place in the same setting).
- Operation: Jealousy: A premium scene in Chapter 8 allows Barrett to flirt with Kit's rival Tate to make Kit feel jealous.
- Previous Player-Character Cameo: The protagonist of Untameable, Barrett, makes a cameo appearance in Chapter 3 of Unbridled, along with their partner Kit.
- Promoted to Love Interest: In Unbridled, Mandy Martinez (Barret's best friend from the first book) is a potential love interest for the new main character, Bryn.
- Recycled Premise: This book borrows many elements from Big Sky Country, including (but not limited to):
- The book being set on a farm with a cowboy farmhand (and later rodeo champion) as the main (or only) love interest.
- The love interest having a rodeo rival that flirts with the main character.
- A corrupt businessman who uses unscrupulous tactics to get the main characters to surrender their farm.
- A Big Storm Episode happening at the most inconvenient time.
- On of the major characters owning a horse.
- The book having steamy content (albeit much steamier in Untameable).
- Sequel Hook: The message at the end of Book 1 mentions that Book 2 will feature "a new (but familiar) couple" trying to find love.
- She's All Grown Up: The first chapter has Kit noticing this about Barrett.
- Shirtless Scene: If Kit is male, he will appear like this in Chapter 1, just as he appears on the cover.
- A Threesome Is Hot: A premium scene in Chapter 14 of Unbridled allows Bryn to have a threesome with Mandy and Ryder.
- Tournament Arc: The story is focused on rodeo competitions.
