The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart (ノラと皇女と野良猫ハート, Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart), also informally known as Noratoto, is a Visual Novel initially released in 2016 by Harukaze and later got an English translation in 2019.

Patricia, the Princess of the Netherworld, is tasked by her mother to spread death and destruction on Earth, to remind mortals of their ephemeral lives and to contribute to save the Netherworld from stagnation. Upon arriving, she instead finds herself in the peaceful harbor city of Sakuragabuchi, left to her own devices without much of a map. Because Earth is full of life and color, Patricia becomes nauseous and can't bring herself to cast her dreaded Death Spell, instead resting in a nearby park.

Once upon a time, there was a boy called Nora Handa. His mother passed away some time before, leaving him all alone in the world with his small circle of eccentric, yet kind-hearted friends. One fateful day, he happens to encounter a strange girl during a walk in the park, who answers by the name of Patricia of the Netherworld. After relieving her of her nausea, Nora quickly learns of her true nature and is eventually forced to teach her about the ways of the surface world, alongside Patricia's two sisters who were tasked to protect her.

As Nora and his friends spend time with their three otherworldly visitors, his life turns upside down ever since Patricia and one of his childhood friends, Michi Kuroki, confessed their love for him. Furthermore, he has to deal with numerous supernatural happenings out of his control...

The Princess, the Stray Cat, and Matters of the Heart features the following tropes:

  • Hell: The Netherworld, from which Patricia, Lucia and Euracia come from.
  • Improbably Female Cast: Nora and Koki are the only boys in the whole group of friends.
  • Lemony Narrator: The narrator mostly recounts the story in a neutral tone, but she can sometimes crack jokes or make fun of the nonsensical things happening to the characters.
  • Port Town: Sakuragabuchi, the setting in which most of the story takes place, is a peaceful and clean city.
  • Super-Deformed: Happens quite frequently when describing scenes in a comedic tone.
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: Not long after arriving on Earth, Patricia quickly becomes nauseous due to its atmosphere clashing with the relatively gloomy Netherworld. After her meeting with Nora, she can't hold it anymore and, as the narrator puts it, spill all of her hidden feelings.
