Caffeine: Victoria's Legacy is a fantasy adventure Visual Novel set in a world parallel to reality, where baristas are knights and coffee is king. It was released for PC
on January 30, 2020.
Tropes:
- Alternate Universe: While trying to find the coffee house his parents once owned to look for clues, Taka finds out that it exists in one of these, where coffee is capable of anything.
- Applied Phlebotinum: In the new universe, caffeine is the "phlebotinum" that keeps everything running.
- Easy Amnesia: The main protagonist, Taka, is unable to recall any memories of his childhood.
- Missing Mom: Taka's mother disappeared just before his sixth birthday, and trying to find her is what instigates the plot.
- Multiple Endings: There are four main Romance paths, as well as one True Ending.
- Steampunk: The city of Victoria in the other world has this motif, except that everything runs on coffee instead of steam.
- Trapped in Another World: Taka enters the Alternate Universe after falling off a plane, and it's not immediately clear how to return. However, since there are signs that his mother is from there, he's not in a hurry to find out.
