Wanted: Weapons of Fate is a 2009 Third-Person Shooter made for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, that serves as a sequel of sorts to the hit 2008 film Wanted that reincorporates some elements from the comic it's based on. Taking place after the events of the film, it follows Wesley Gibson as he continues his mission of revenge against those who wronged him, while occasionally flashing back to the time his father Cross spent working under the Fraternity. Only Thomas Kretchmann and Terence Stamp reprised their roles from the film.
The game provides examples of the following tropes:
- Adaptational Alternate Ending: In the console versions, Wesley shoots at the Immortal. In the PC version, the bullet misses the Immortal and Wesley urinates on him.
- Big Bad: The Immortal.
- Forced Tutorial: The game begins with a tutorial where the player learns the controls.
- Immediate Sequel: Downplayed. The game takes place five hours after the events of the film.
- Ink-Suit Actor: Pekwarsky and Cross share the same likeness as their actors.
- Sean Connery Is About to Shoot You: The cover has Wesley shooting his dual guns towards the viewer.
- Truer to the Text: The game lets Wesley use his outfit from the comics.
- Urine Trouble: The computer version has Wesley urinating on the Immortal.
- Warm-Up Boss: The SWAT leader is the first boss encountered in the game.
- Destructible Projectiles: Only featured in the Bullet Time scenes of the game, where you have to literally Shoot the Bullet within a few seconds, or else suffer from a One-Hit Kill.
