Vs. Auditor: Gateway to Hell is a Friday Night Funkin' Game Mod developed by JustBruh, Comodo_ and sirfitness. Like Vs Torture and The Tricky Mod, it is a crossover with Madness Combat, but the opponent of this one is the Big Bad of the series, The Auditor.

After the events of The Tricky Mod, Boyfriend and Girlfriend try to find some shelter away from what had happened while being followed by the titular Auditor, who has watched the events unfold from the shadows. When they eventually do, the Auditor shows himself to the duo, with Boyfriend, as usual, challenging the employer to a rap battle.

It can be found on Gamebanana and Gamejolt.

Song List:

  • Week 1:
    1. Encavmaphobia
    2. Supremacy
    3. Gateway
  • Week 2 (Tricky vs Auditor):
    1. Captivity
    2. Unhinged
    3. Dissension
  • Bonus Songs:
    1. Damnation
    2. Audichrome

Tropes:

  • Adaptational Wimp: Boyfriend in the vanilla game is a Fearless Fool and can beat someone so badly that the victim's parents laugh about it behind their backs. Here, not only does Boyfriend explicitly scream in fear in the cutscenes, his punch does nothing to the Auditor. Then again, the latter can be explained as the Auditor No Selling the punch.
  • Bald of Evil: In "Damnation", the Auditor's "shadowy" aura and halo appear to be missing, leaving a bare black head with red crack-like marks around the back. He tries to impale Boyfriend throughout the song.
  • BFS: In the cutscene before "Gateway", the Auditor absorbs lots of agents into himself to gain power and grow in size, and summons a giant black sword out of his hand, which he wields throughout the final song. This sword is also visible on the menu screen, dividing it down the middle.
  • Big Damn Heroes: After the third song, Hank in his MAGnified form and Sanford saves Boyfriend and Girlfriend from a particularly nasty attack from the Auditor. You can see both of them beforehand in "Gateway," cheering Boyfriend on.
  • Blade Reflection: The title banner has the Auditor glowering down, and on his sword is a reflection of Boyfriend and Girlfriend. On the level select menu, the sword appears down the middle of it, and may display different characters at a time.
  • Cover Version: "Audichrome" is a cover version of "Monochrome" from Friday Night Funkin' Lullaby, with the Auditor singing it instead of Gold. It’s also a remix!
  • Cross-Popping Veins: Near the end of "Supremacy", a red vein-like cross appears by the Auditor's halo just before he stomps the ground hard enough that it cracks.
  • Defeat Equals Explosion: Losing to Tricky in Week 2 causes the Auditor to go wide-eyed, float slightly and vanish with a boom, his red halo landing on the floor.
  • Destroy the Villain's Weapon: Played with. Beating Week 2 causes the Auditor's sword on the level select menu to crack. Clicking the sword takes you to the bonus level "Damnation", and upon completing that, the sword on the menu shatters (but the level can be replayed).
  • Easy-Mode Mockery: Enabling Botplay is allowed, but not before a window pop-up saying "You Suck." appears first.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: The Auditor’s voice in this mod is pretty deep. He’s the opponent of this mod.
  • Fade Around the Eyes: "Damnation" ends with the whole screen fading to black except for the Auditor's eyes, which then fade away later.
  • Flipping the Bird: The Auditor puts out a middle finger in his left pose during "Audichrome".
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: The death animation for losing to the Auditor is Boyfriend getting blueballed and bloodily impaled by large spikes from behind, one through his heart and another through his skull.
  • Interface Screw: "Gateway"’s gimmick for this mod features chains pulling the grey judgement arrows around and putting them into random places (but still in order).
  • Promoted to Playable: Originally the opponent of the 1st week, the Auditor becomes a playable character in the 2nd week as he goes against Tricky.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: The mod's main foe, the Auditor, is a dark shadowy entity with red glowing from his scowling eyes and halo. The sword he draws out from his hand after absorbing a bunch of people has a black blade with red edges.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning:
    • The Auditor constantly scowls with red Glowing Eyes of Doom, and is the mod's titular antagonist. He can absorb others into himself to gain power and grow in size, and losing to him causes Boyfriend to get Impaled with Extreme Prejudice.
    • Tricky the Clown, the 2nd week's opponent, has red flickering eyes.
  • Secret Level: "Damnation" and "Audichrome." The former is unlocked by clicking the sword on the menu, and the latter is unlocked by typing in a long phrase. note
  • Shapes of Disappearance: In the demo version of this mod, there are only two songs instead of the usual 3, so it ends with the Auditor throwing a rock at the wall behind Boyfriend before vanishing, with only a blinking red outline of him being visible once Boyfriend looks his way again.
  • Shout-Out
    • In the cutscene before "Encavmaphobia", you can see IRIS' symbol and the Trollface respectively in the monitors.
    • The room Week 2 takes place in resembles the room Tricky ended up in the end of The Tricky Mod.
    • The phrase to unlock "Audichrome" references a Deltarune meme that became associated with Lost Silver in Friday Night Funkin' Lullaby, who is the singer of the original song.
    • A subtle one, but modified riffs from "Censory Overload" and "Termination" can be heard in "Damnation". The gimmick for this song also brings in mind "Termination"’s gimmick, with Boyfriend having to dodge One-Hit KO attacks by pressing the space bar.
  • Smashing Survival: "Damnation"'s gimmick. During certain intervals, you must mash the space button enough times before a timer runs out in order to dodge the spikes The Auditor summons. Failure to do so nets you a One-Hit KO.
  • Uncommon Time: "Gateway" changes time signatures (and tempo) once in a while, from Common Time to something like 5/16. In fact, the song starts out in 19/16!
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: The demo version of the mod ends with the Auditor escaping by throwing a rock to distract Boyfriend because he "doesn’t have a third song." Averted in the full version, as he instead absorbs multiple agents into himself a la episode 10 of Madness Combat.
