The Tree of Death is an Idle Game by patfr made in The Modding Tree and released in 2022. It has layers that focus on various deadly things related to chemistry. It takes inspiration from pg132's The Tree of Life with things like the first layer losing a percentage of its resource every second.

The game is playable here.

This game provides examples of:

  • Achievement System: The game has 77 (but only 57 can be gotten) achievements that are earned by accumulating enough resources/resets. Each achievement's name is its respective number and there are seven in a row.
  • Cap:
    • A bunch of upgrades have caps specified in their description.
    • Initial base gain of Uranium is capped at 4. Some upgrades increase that. The amount of Uranium you have is also effectively capped since you lose a percentage of it every second and it's easy to end up with production at 0.
    • The Mutation buyable caps at 25.
    • Chemicals, Lethal Points, and Healthy Points are capped based on buyables in the Toxins layer.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each layer has its own color.
    • Uranium: Dark green
    • Rads: Brown
    • Toxins: Sand
  • Export Save: You can push a button to export the 4KB+ save file and another to import it into a window.
  • Inspired by…: The line below the Death Point count states "Inspired by pg132's mod "The Tree of Life"".
  • Post-End Game Content: As stated by the game once you reach it, the content was only properly balanced towards the point you reach 75 Lethal and Healthy Points, despite this only reaching the halfway point of the Toxin achievements. Getting the rest as such is more of a slog due to lack of further upgrades for boosts.
  • Reset Milestones: Starting from the Rads layer, doing enough of a reset or
  • Theme Naming: Most upgrades follow the name of the layer/resource with a corresponding Roman numeral.
