The Mimic is a Survival Horror game created by MUCDICH on Roblox. You play as a young adult named Yasu, searching for his group of friends who went to a school party.
When looking for them, you can't find anyone. However, you encounter multiple monsters that come from japanese urban legends.
On January 15, 2021, MUCDICH developed the game by himself, until the current developer team, Ctstudios, was built around June 2021.

The Tropes shall stand, all shall fall
- And I Must Scream:
- The puppets created by Kintoru are mutated humans who are aware of their fate but unable to fight it, with most of their victims being members of their own family. For instance, Hiachi Masashige is constantly crying and her face has become stained with black tears from the stress of it all. To make matter worse, she's only eight years old.
- The Fleshbags were once members of Akuyami Village who had their souls forcibly removed and placed in malformed golems.
- Rin was constantly starving as a human, and as a Youkai she's not only forced to feed a second mouth but her jaw is broken too, preventing her from eating. Justified, as she had previously cannibalized her own sister.
- And Then John Was a Zombie: Played with in both Books:
- In Book 1: If Yasu hasn't caught on to her tricks and accepts her deal, Kintoru will turn him into a puppet like his family.
- In Book 2: Isamu appears as one of the various demonic entities in his brother Senzai's warped memories due to blaming him for the abuse he suffered at home.
- Art Evolution: The game's environments and characters were revamped, going from lego-like creatures and objects to fully detailed assets.
- Artificial Stupidity: Some enemies have a set path instead of actually following the player.
- Big Bad: Each book's main antagonist is part of a quartet of powerful entities who once ravaged the world.
- Book 1: Kintoru, control. A creature who takes the form of a woman dressed in black, responsible for every bad thing that happened in Book 1.
- Book 2: Enzukai, jealousy. A demon worshipped by a cult who preys on insecurities and desires to obtain followers.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: The monsters in Book 1 are this.
- Eldritch Abomination: The Evil God, the creator of Kintoru and the other "World Eaters."
- Evil Laughter: Kintoru does this after killing the player or another character.
- Greater-Scope Villain: The Evil God is a bizarre tangle of hands that overthrew Shinigami, the true king of hell, and usurped his position. Growing bored, it created the World Eaters for fun.
- Hell: Jigoku is the equivalent of this, literally named so, a dark red dimension where people are sent on death.
- Jumpscare: You receive one upon dying, encountering a new monster or arriving at a certain location.
- Light Is Good: Mainly in the Realm of The Forgotten, the player has to follow the shining butterflies in order to progress.
- Samurai: Kusonoki Masashige was one in life, and thus fittingly retains those characteristics after being turned into a puppet.
- Youkai: Most members of the cast that aren't cursed humans are Youkai, with it even being the name of the upcoming spinoff.
