The Lost Potato is a Minecraft adventure map.

The protagonists have been locked inside a massive prison complex by the evil Prince Dorleac for no good reason. After escaping, they find that the Prince has stolen the last Potato in the land for no good reason. Now, they must go and recover it.

The sequel, Lost Potato 2, begins with the protagonists having to escape yet again and continue their search for the Potato.

In addition, Lost Potato 3 continues the protagonists' search to find the Lost Potato and defeat Prince Dorleac.

This series contains examples of:

  • Absurdly Spacious Sewer: The castle has some massive sewer tunnels.
  • Big Bad: Prince Dorleac has imprisoned the protagonists and arranged their execution, as well as capturing the Innocent Piglet and the Lost Potato. All three chapters focus on trying to stop his evil plans.
  • Big Labyrinthine Building: The prison where most of the first chapter is set is a complex structure that initially poses as the protagonists' house before revealing its true nature.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: The Innocent Piglet/Porkins is initially just a pig who helps out the heroes, before then returning to give them vital intel. Also, Random Stranger aka Jorren, who engineers the players' escape and continues to aid them from a distance.
  • Companion Cube: The Innocent Piglet in the first map. Technically, it's alive, but it serves the same purpose, being a pig who comes along with the player and then returns to its home.
  • Down the Drain: Much of the first part of the second map is in the castle's sewer system.
  • Evil Prince: Prince Dorleac is certainly shown to be one, with the ending of the third map seeing him capture Annika, Hoptzop, Jorren, and Porkins to force the player to kill his father, the King.
  • Evil Tower of Ominousness: The prison is inside one of these, its imposing structure making it a daring threat to escape. Dorleac's castle could count as well, the sinister tower fitting the evil prince's cruel ambitions as it contains many obstacles the player must avoid.
  • For the Evulz: Seemingly the only reason Dorleac does anything.
  • Kick the Dog: Dorleac's fake-out attempt at killing the Innocent Piglet involves a porkchop presented to the protagonists, with a written book taunting them about his fate. Fortunately, it turned out Porkins was not dead.
  • Kill It with Fire: At the start of the first map, Dorleac tries to kill you with fire, courtesy of lava being unleashed to burn out a wool environment.
  • The Mole: Annika turns out to be this due to a secret love affair with Dorleac, much to the chagrin of her husband Hoptzop. And then it turns out she's not and is the sister of Jorren.
  • No Name Given:
    • The Innocent Piglet. You're given the chance to name him, though. And then, in the second map, he's officially named Porkins (this name was presumably selected because, in their playthrough of part 1, Lewis Brindley and Simon Lane from the Yogscast chose to rename the pig that name using a name tag.)
    • The Random Stranger, too. Yes, his name is Random Stranger. Except it's actually Jorren.
  • Scenery Porn: Most of the first map is enclosed, but the scene when you finally go outside the prison tower is breathtaking.
  • Underground Level: The area beneath the castle in both maps, as well as several shorter sections in the second, go deep below the ground, creating a harrowing experience the protagonists' must navigate to return to the surface.
  • The Very Definitely Final Dungeon: The castle in the first map and the Dungeon Of Dorleac in the second, are challenging environments, with many puzzles and enemies that help cement a sense of finality to the protagonists' adventure.
