The Cubearth Saga is a Geometry Dash custom level series by rafer and J735. It follows the perspectives of their author avatars, with each level releasing alongside prologue and epilogue animations bookending its playthrough video.

The series starts with a volcano eruption that rafer ends up stumbling into, and then follows rafer's journey to save fellow Geometry Dash level creator Alkali. During this, J735 is trying to save Alkali as well - having been separated from Alkali slightly earlier, J735 spends the series trying to catch up to him and comes across the aftermath of rafer's quest in the process.

An official playlist of the animations and level playthroughs can be found here.

The Cubearth Saga contains examples of:

  • Amazing Technicolor Battlefield: The "final stage" section of Sky Tower becomes a light-show of multicolored lasers and bright scenery as you take on the final stretch before reaching the Rainbow Gem.
  • Author Avatar: Both rafer and J735 are the main characters of the series. Each creator's avatar is the main character of the levels they create, and technically also the player characters since they're shown going through the levels in official videos showcasing them (though in-game, nothing stops you from using your own icon set).
  • Circling Birdies:
    • After rafer gets knocked out by Captain in one hit and lands back on his smaller boat, there's birds circling his head for a few seconds as tweeting sounds play.
    • When J735 jumps into the back of his boat in fear, he sees stars - as in, the collectibles rewarded for completing levels in Geometry Dash.
  • Continuity Nod: On the map of the Topalian Sea, Topalia City from Prelude - which takes place in the same 'Verse of the planet Cubearth - can be partially seen in the top right corner. The city is mentioned again at the end of Floodfall Caverns as where rafer and Alkali are headed.
  • Credits Gag: The monster in Sky Tower has the voice actor credit of "a hawk".
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": The band of pirates that kidnaps Alkali in Sky Tower has three members: Captain, Afro, and Vandal.
  • Here Be Dragons: The map that Captain shows rafer has one of the "monsters" from Geometry Dash drawn in the empty space of the Topalian Sea.
  • Jungle Japes: Deepvine Pass has you climbing up a massive tree (the "Gargantree") covered in vines, with the level's song Law of the Jungle by BoomKitty matching the theme.
  • Little "No": Captain's first response to rafer offering the Red Gemstone in exchange for Alkali.
  • Press X to Not Die: Sky Tower ends with a cutscene of the player flying around the Rainbow Emerald they're there to get, requiring a click as they pass by it. If you miss it, you'll crash at at 97% and be forced to play the entire level again thanks to Geometry Dash's Checkpoint Starvation.
  • Previously on…: The animation for Floodfall Caverns starts with a segment showing clips from the previous level and the animation it released with.
  • Race Against the Clock: After rafer crash-lands into the In Silico island, a screen near where he lands tells him that it will explode in exactly three minutes and starts counting down immediately. The level actually matches this by being exactly three minutes long.
  • The Scream: After rafer stabs Alkali out of frustration for having to complete The Tempest for nothing, a view of the forest from above is shown while Alkali screams.
  • Shapes of Disappearance: When rafer gets back to the boat in Sky Tower's prologue, a dotted outline of Alkali is shown to reveal he's gone missing.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The level In Silico references Pendulum’s music. It’s named after their album In Silico, and the level’s end screen resembles its album cover.
    • Two of the monsters in Alkali's resort are playing with a ball that resembles a bee from the Geometry Dash custom level B.
  • Underground Level: Floodfall Caverns takes place inside of a massive cave filled with lakes and waterfalls.
  • Walk on Water: When rafer makes his way back to the boat after recovering his keys, he's running across the water quickly. It's Played for Laughs with him going so fast that he's barreling out of control and screaming, creating a massive splash when he eventually reaches the boat and hits it.
