The Christmas Tree is an Idle Game developed by yhvr in The Modding Tree and released in 2020. The layers in it are based on Christmas things, like presents and elves. It's simplistic and unlikely to ever be updated due to the developer lacking experience with the engine, but still has some content to sink teeth into.

Not to be confused with the infamous Christmas special of the same name.

This game provides examples of:

  • A.I.-Generated Economy: The milestone for getting 7 present machines autobuys one of each elf buyables per tick.
  • Cap: You can only have 10 of each toy tier.
  • Challenge Run: There are a few Coronavirus-themed challenges in the present machine layer where you have to reach a present goal with lowered present/elf gain or returning to the beginning with nothing but the elf layer.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each layer has its own color.
    • Elves: Light green
    • Present machines: Brown
    • Trees: Pinkish red
    • Toys: Milky yellow
  • Diminishing Returns for Balance: The effect of the "This is boring. Give leaves another effect!" upgrade is softcapped past 1e70.
  • Double-Meaning Title: The game both involves creating presents to put under Christmas trees and is a Christmas-themed Modding Tree game.
  • Export Save: You can push a button to export the 3KB+ which can be imported into the game.
  • Unending End Card: Once you reach the end screen by getting 17 toys, that's it. No option to continue or reload, unless you refresh your browser.
