Star Wars Eclipse is an upcoming video game by Quantic Dream and a tie-in to Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project, seemingly closer to the events of The Phantom Menace than other works in the series. In an effort that appears to be a departure from Quantic Dream's usual formula, the title is said to be much more action-driven than anything that the studio has worked on before.

In a story set decades before the time of the Skywalkers, many seemingly-unconnected paths align as a galaxy that's enjoyed a long period of peace is beginning to move towards war once again, as the Force falls out of balance. Players will explore the lives of a variety of characters across all walks of life, as their every action can change the course of history.

Previews: 2021 Game Awards Announcement Trailer

This game provides examples of:

  • Call-Forward: Several in the first trailer to later Star Wars works.
    • Yoda can be seen looking out the tower of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
    • A protocol droid appears, and it has a face that looks similar to C-3PO's.
    • The Lucrehulks first seen in The Phantom Menace are revealed here to have been in use decades before the Naboo Crisis, as the unconventionally-designed warships appear to be functionally identical to the ones seen in that movie.
    • Various religious groups that were seen on Jedha in Rogue One have followers that appear in the streets of a crowded city.
  • Drums of War: The action of the trailer is compounded by a group of aliens playing a drum-based ritual.
  • Take It to the Bridge: The trailer shows two Jedi sparring on a bridge against, what is either a beautiful sunset or a gorgeous sunrise.
