Sonic CD Alternative Ending is a Sonic the Hedgehog fangame made by Lucsan 2015.

After facing off with Eggman at Metallic Madness, Sonic escapes Little Planet, which is about to collapse to the ground. Sonic has to escape the collapse of the planet and face the consequences of it.

Sonic CD Alternative Ending contains examples of the following tropes:

• Content Warning: The game starts with one warning the players about the game containing a scene of suicide (which features Sonic hanging himself from a tree in Ending B and trying to jump into the spike pit in Ending C) and also has an emphasis on dark tones and depression.

• Darker and Edgier: Something had gone horribly wrong after Eggman's defeat - instead of a planet restored, it breaks down instead.
• Downer Ending: The whole prospect of this fangame. Not a single one of the three endings you can get are even remotely fully positive, and you're only able to get a Bittersweet Ending at best.
• Driven to Suicide: Sonic hangs himself from a tree after seeing Tails and Amy dead from the collapse of Little Planet in Ending B. Sonic also tries to jump into the spike pit in Ending C, but was saved just in time by Knuckles.
• Hearing Voices: While piloting the Tornado in "The Final Day Act 3", Sonic hears voices saying that "they" love to see him suffer, his suffering is "their" fun, and calling him selfish.
• Multiple Endings:
  • Ending A^note also known as "Accept the Consequences Route": You can get this ending by running out of time while trying to escaping the collapse of Little Planet. After being unable to escape the collapse of Little Planet, Sonic sees the dead bodies of Tails and Amy in a black void and his head with a black goal sign planted on it.
  • Ending B^note also known as "The Final Day Route": You can get this ending by managing to escape the collapse of Little Planet in time. Sonic hangs himself from a tree after seeing Tails and Amy dead from the collapse of Little Planet.
  • Ending C^note also known as the "Knuckles Route": You can get this ending by getting a hidden Time Stone in "The Final Day Act 2". After a few new sections with Knuckles, Sonic tries to commit suicide by jumping into a spike pit, but was interfered with by Knuckles. Sonic runs out after seeing Knuckles as Tails and Amy call to him to avenge and join them, with Knuckles following him as he flees. What happens afterwards remains uncertain.
• The Stinger:
  • After Ending B, the game cuts to the Majin Sonic "Fun is Infinite" Easter Egg screen from Sonic CD. After several seconds, you'll see a sprite of Sonic from the title screen of Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) without eye pupils (and bleeding) on a dark black background. You'll also see red texts reading, "I will be watching Y O U".
  • After Ending C, the game cuts to a starry night background, and you'll see Amy and Tails on there, before they become pupiless (and bleeding) after a few seconds. You can also hear male sobbing sounds (implied to be Sonic's) too.
• Torso with a View: In Scrap Brain Zone in the Knuckles Route, as a result of the events of the game, Sonic caused a hole in Eggman's stomach with his Spin Dash, murdering him as a result.
