The Choice is Yours

6Quest is a series of Gamebook-type fantasy games set in the shattered world of Felorian. They are mechanically similar to Choice of Games' and Delight Games' products, and connected to each other by an overarching storyline. Features include branching paths, timed challenges, character development, moral choice systems, resource management, dialogues and multiple endings – all accessible through the trusty Dialogue Tree and readable in Second-Person Narration.

Currently available stories include:

  • Awakenings, an introductory quest in which you find yourself a drifting spirit in an endless void and have to immerse yourself in the lost memories of the world to reach the last remaining bastion of civilization. Gives you the backstory and a bunch of lore about the world while also challenging you to escape a long abandoned dungeon.
  • Just Another Day, a story about the misadventures of a city watchman or watchwoman who needs to appear competent in the next few days because of an upcoming inspection. It takes place in Cyrdain which is supposedly the largest city of a fantasy realm.
  • Shipwrecked, a story about a pirate who ends up on a tropical island and has to find a way to escape. The fact that he needs to complete the trial of a long dead wizard is just the icing on the cake…

6Quest provides examples of the following tropes:

    Tropes Present in multiple gamebooks
    Awakenings
  • Dungeon Crawling: The final memory you need to go through is pretty much this
  • Intrepid Merchant: You can meet and trade with one in one of the memories
  • Living Memory: These are supposedly all that remain of the world of Felorian. Entering and re-living them is the point of the game
  • Our Ghosts Are Different: You are a spirit awekened after the end of the world. Having no memories of your own, you can actually re-live parts of other people’s lives.
  • Riddle Me This: You might need to solve a few
  • Stock Gods: Nine of them actually. The only one that remains is the God of Knowledge and he has a quest for you…
  • The Witch Hunter: One of the memories has one. He is after you, since he figured out you are a werewolf
    Just Another Day
  • Always Chaotic Evil: Played with. The orcs are said to be generally a nuisance, but the two that are actually killing people are supposed to be barbarians who thought they were provoked by a clown.
  • Dirty Cop: There are multiple opportunities to be this. It might come back later to bite you in the ass though. There is also one you are supposed to find and catch in the act.
  • Gentle Giant: Babba, the half-giant is still a kid and behaves accordingly.
  • Giant Spider: You can meet one in the cellar of the abandoned temple in Smokersville.
  • Invisible Monsters: Just a small one. If it’s even real.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: You can choose to do this a few times. It does not end well unless you have the physical attributes to back it up.
  • Mean Boss: Captain Sidren is Da Chief and apparently there is a betting pool running in the office about the time he will finally gets an anyeurism…
  • Noodle Incident: The “famous warthog incident” that made it necessary to obtain a permit before selling magical goods in the city.
  • Only in It for the Money: There is an achievement for having a certain amount of gold before the inspection. After all with that much money you have less to worry about having a job…
  • Police Are Useless: Entirely up to the player whether it is averted or played straight. You van get promoted, demoted or even die in the line of duty by the end of the game.
  • Serial Killer: Catching one of these is supposed be the toughest challenge in the game
    Shipwrecked
  • Always Chaotic Evil: You can assume this about the goblins you meet on the island Subverted. They are actually quite nice and slaying the first two you encounter can turn out quite badly for you.
  • Marooned on a Deserted Island: Basically this drives the plot
  • Passed in Their Sleep: This can happen to you, unless you manage to get away from the dream lilies in time.
  • The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: You are supposed to be a pirate, but do not do any actual pirating. This is mostly due to being stranded on a deserted island but even in the character creation part there is little mention of actual piracy in your backstory.
