The Saw Games are a series of point-and-click videogames created by the indie group Inkagames.

The games all follow a similar formula: the evil puppet Pigsaw (also known as "Jigtrap" in the Spanish versions of the latest games) targets someone (usually a character from another work or a real-life celebrity), kidnapping them or those dear to them to force them to play a deadly game.

The series provides examples of:

  • Affectionate Parody: Obviously, the entire series is this to the Saw franchise, with Pigsaw being a parody of John Kramer himself (and his puppet Billy) and Pigface being a parody of Pighead.
  • All Just a Dream: The entirety of Pigsaw Final Game is revealed to be nothing more than a dream of Pigsaw himself.
  • Antagonist Title: In one way or the other, Pigsaw's name is always gonna be in the games' titles.
  • Alternate Continuity: Pretty much every game based on a cartoon is bound to feature elements from non-canon episodes, especially those based on The Simpsons and Regular Show, which both feature allusions, and even characters, from their respective Halloween specials.
  • Author Avatar: The protagonists of Pigsaw's Challange are fictionalized versions of the Inkagames team.
  • Banana Peel: An usual trope to defeat enemies.
  • Big Bad: Pigsaw, the one behind all the deadly games.
  • Bag of Holding: The games' inventory allows the player characters to store pretty much everything, from tiny objects to people, matches on fire, heavy objects and even share its elements with other characters who are clearly not in the same dimension.
  • Deadly Game: The main premise of the series. The characters are forced into games that are all but safe.
  • The Dragon: Pigface, Pigsaw's helper who sometimes assists his master in kidnapping people.
  • Ensemble Cast: The Youtubers Saw Game series tend to have this trope.
  • Episode Title Card: Adventure Time Saw Game pays tribute to the show's gorgeous title cards by starting with a fake title card. Helped by another screen emulating the title card's credits.
  • Even Evil Has Standards : While Pigsaw was no stranger to force children to play his twisted games, In Maggie Simpson Saw Game, Pigsaw captures the entire Simpson family to force Maggie into playing his game. Turns out he faked their kidnapping by doing a montage of previous games, as he would never - by any means - try to blackmail a baby.
  • Immediate Sequel: Funnily enough, the first two Obama Saw Games pick up inmediately where their previous Obama adventure left off.
  • Lighter and Softer: Despite being based off the famous horror series Saw (and using more than once characters from horror works), the Saw Games are family-friendly, cartoonish and don't contain any kind of gore.
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: The series loves doing this, with the characters (be they protagonists or antagonists) usually being from already existing works (which causes some versions of the games to have most of the characters' names changed due to copyright).
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Nearly every single one of these games is starred by one
  • On the Next: Ever since Adobe Flash's discontinuation, Inkagames hides the trailers of the next Saw Games at the very end of other games they released depending on how much advanced they are in production
  • Protagonist Title: The games will usually have the main protagonist's name in the title (e.g. Phineas Saw Game, Slenderman Saw Game, Lisa Saw Game, etc), though there are some exceptions (e.g. Adventure Time Saw Game, Gravity Falls Saw Game, Pigsaw's Challenge, etc).
  • Portable Hole: A common item in the series. It is usually used to set up traps for the enemies to fall into.
  • Poorly Disguised Pilot: Pepe Saw Game was stated to be the first of a series of adventures starring Uruguayan politician Pepe Mujica, the game even finishing with him thanking the player for helping him through his first adventure. So far, this is the only game they made starring him.
  • Sleepy Enemy: Some dangerous opponents sleep unless you are in their zone or make any noise.
  • Teleportation: Some games include a teleporting map, which allows its user to travel to the shown locations.
  • Tricking the Shapeshifter: Has a few variations.
    • In Lyna Saw Game/Jig Lyna Saw Trap, Lyna has to face Freddy Krueger, who asks her if she wants to be killed by himself or a spider. Lyna chooses a spider, and Freddy transforms into a giant one, but is then quickly defeated by blinding with a camera and some insecticide.
    • In Lenay German Saw Game, Lenay has to defeat the wicked Maleficent who has the power to transform other. The solution? Provoke her into transform her crow into a human, then shoot a cupid's arrow at it. They are now happy forever.
  • Villain Protagonist: While the protagonists are usually innocent people who don't remotely deserve being forced into a deadly game, there have been three notable exceptions: Slender Man, the Grinch and Pigsaw himself.
