Rockman.EXE WS is a Spin-Off game based on the Mega Man Battle Network series, released exclusively for the WonderSwan Color in 2002 in Japan-only; the game is a platformer, adapting elements from MegaMan NT Warrior (2002).

Rockman.EXE WS contains examples of...

  • Adaptation-Induced Plot Hole: Hub Style makes an appearance in this game, despite Hub himself not being adapted in the anime at all.
  • Boss Rush: The game's "Extra Mode" acts as this.
  • Broad Strokes: The events of the game take some influence from certain episodes of the anime (such as FireMan in level 1), but the game also takes elements from the series that had not yet appeared in the anime, including the Life Virus.
  • Charged Attack: Naturally, MegaMan has the holding variety.
  • Collision Damage: As with the other Mega Man platformers, touching enemies hurts you.
  • Demoted to Extra: Virtually all of Lan's friends.
  • Recursive Adaptation: An adaptation of the anime, which itself is an adaptation of the main series.
  • True Final Boss: Gospel if all scenarios are played, and Bass on Extra Mode's "EXHard" difficulty.
