Video Game / Pokémon Nightmare: Invasion

Go To

Pokémon Nightmare: Invasion is a German Pokémon Fan Game in RPG Maker. After an entire town mysteriously disappeared and every police officer sent to investigate also disappears, Detective Jack is hired to figure out what happened.

This game supplies examples of:

  • Alternate Universe: Takes place in a Darker and Edgier version of Pokémon where the creatures we know as Pokémon are monsters manufactured in a laboratory via experimenting on humans.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Suzie's last name is Green, but it's not clear how she may be related to Green (also known as Leaf).
  • Canon Character All Along:
    • Jack's surname is Blue.
    • In French, Chen is the localized name for Oak. Foreshadowed in that Agatha's journal calls him by his first name, Samuel.
  • Expy: Gene Co. is an Expy for the Umbrella Corporation in that they're both Mad Scientist pharmaceutical companies that have been experimenting on humans and creatures to turn them into horrifying monsters and has reduced a city into an infested Ghost Town.
  • Ghost Town: Azure City has been reduced to this thanks to Gene Co.
  • Mad Scientist: Chen performed all these experiments in an attempt to find a cure for his wife Agatha's cancer, but he lost himself along the way.
  • No One Could Survive That!: Somehow, Jack manages to survive (albeit not unscathed) getting a Dragon Ball Z-style beatdown from an Alakazam and getting thrown out several stories from the Gene Co. building. It was because he drank his father's antidote for the related project when he was younger.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: After being infused with all the knowledge of the people of Azure City, Mewtwo quickly makes his intentions clear: to destroy the world and rebuild it in his own image.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Jack goes on one after he's kicked several stories out of a Gene Co. window by an Alakazam, vowing to kill those bastards for doing that to him.
  • Schmuck Bait: Using Bill's teleporter (one pod clearly having blood leaking out from it) will kill you.
  • Suspicious Video-Game Generosity: In Gene Co., there's a room full of beds that you can use to heal up... only for you to awaken to the room being plagued by a poisonous gas from a bunch of Gastly who also block the door so that you can't leave. However, this can be circumvented by opening the windows.
