Developed by Drayano60 and AphexCubed, Pokémon Blaze Black 2 and Volt White 2 Redux are remakes of Drayano's previous Game Mods Pokémon Blaze Black 2 and Volt White 2, the sequels to Pokémon Blaze Black and Volt White. As with the original versions of the hack, they feature the ability to catch all 649 Pokémon which existed at the time in a single playthrough.
These ROM hacks contain examples of:
- Adaptation Deviation: A few events from the original B2W2 are altered here. For instance, the initial trip to Pokéstar Studios is replaced with a battle with Brycen.
- Ascended Extra: In the original B2W2, the Hoenn gym leaders only appeared in the PWT. Here, they appear in the overworld as challenges for the player to overcome.
- Game-Breaking Bug: The implementation of the Fairy type led to several issues when played on original hardware, as the hacks were primarily tested on emulator. Most obviously, entering the Hall of Fame with a Pokémon whose primary type is Fairy crashes the game.
