Mario Quest are a trilogy of fangames created by the Thunder Dragon of MFGG fame (back when MFGG was known as Bowser Technologies). The games are top-view action games similar to the original Legend of Zelda and star Mario as he's being hunted down by Sonic the Hedgehog.

These games provide examples of:
- Enemy Mine: In the first game, Mario forms a team with Bowser, Wario, Smithy, and Donkey Kong. This alliance seemingly lasts through the second game, although it focuses more on Bowser.
- Excuse Plot: The first and second games. The first one is essentially a parody of Super Mario RPG with Sonic characters instead of Smithy's gang (while Smithy himself appears as a miniboss) - and everyone wants to go after Mario's car for some reason. The second game involves Sonic's revenge - yet with a lot of vitriol between Mario and Bowser.
- Orcus on His Throne: In the first game, Sonic himself only appears at the very end of the game. In the second game, it's averted, as he's actively causing trouble for Mario and Bowser.
- Post-Final Boss: Bowser in the second game after he challenges Mario's rule of the Mushroom Kingdom.
- Recurring Boss: While Sonic is only fought once (with two forms) during the events of the first game, the second game has him fought a total of 7 times (the 6th time having two battles).
- TimeTravel: Mario travels in time for a brief moment in the second game. He goes through the prehistoric era, a Zelda-themed medieval timeline, and a Mega Man X themed futuristic timeline.
- World of Jerkass: The second game essentially reduces everyone to this after the halfway point - whether if it be hero or villain. Bowser is an awful ally to Mario and treats him like dirt, Mario becomes a tyrant after the end of the second game, and Sonic is just as much of a jerkass as always.
