Lunicus is a 1993 pre-rendered computer game developed by Cyberflix and published by Paramount Interactive, designed as a cross between an Interactive Movie and Doom.

In 2023, alien artifacts are discovered for the first time, leading to an enormous surge in technological progress, to the point that the United Nations funded a moon base called Lunicus. When one of these artifacts is repaired and activated, its Hive Mind creators, the Phylarr, are alerted and stage an attack on Earth. Now, in 2051, it's up to you and your crewmates on Lunicus to fight back and hopefully defeat these aliens once and for all.

Lunicus contains examples of:

  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: You and your buddies strike out from the titular hidden moonbase to fight an alien occupation of Earth. It gets invaded later in the game, allowing you to hijack one of their boarding craft to pull an Independence Day.
  • Computer Equals Tapedrive: Many areas show bulky computer banks with spinning tape drives.
  • Future Food Is Artificial: You receive synthesized food and drink on Lunicus, with a variety of flavors to choose from. Possibly justified, being on a moon base.
