Gangstar Vegas is a 2013 open world action adventure game, developed by Gameloft. It is the fifth instalment in the Gangstar series.

Gangstar Vegas provides examples of:

  • Action Girl: Karen, and to a lesser extent, Vera.
  • Big Bad: Frank Veliano, a vicious and cruel crime lord who controls Las Vegas.
  • Car Chase: One happens near the beginning after Jason wins a fight he is supposed to lose.
  • Cool Car: Jason's Whiptail.
  • Corrupt Politician: Winston Goodman, a black up and coming politician who allies with Frank.
    • Also The Preacher, a man featured in the Devil side quest.
  • Destination Defenestration: How Frank meets his end. And it ain't pretty either, since he was set on fire.
  • Dirty Cop: Frank's got these on the force.
  • The Dragon: Averted. The only member of Veliano's team we ever meet is Benny, but he's more of a small time crook.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After all that shit that happens, Jason kills Frank and leads a happy life with Karen.
  • Establishing Character Moment:
    • Frank talks about the system in the opening narration and shoots a mook that failed him, showing his brutality and calmness.
  • Family-Friendly Stripper: In the game's non-interactive strip clubs, there are many of these.
  • The Hero: Jason, an up and coming MMA fighter who is forced to take a dive during a fight.
  • Honest John's Dealership: Any car you get you can sell it here for a quick buck.
  • Local Hangout: There is a bar near the casino, but it is non-interactive and you can do nothing there other than shoot some guys.
  • The Mafia: Frank's gang.
  • Malt Shop: There's one near the main workshop, but you can't do ANYTHING there, least of all buy a burger.
  • Police Are Useless: They only show up to kill you, even if you happen to shoot a gangster who just fucking tried to kill you.
  • Robbing the Mob Bank: Vera has you do this, which helps set in motion the second act of the main plot.
  • Ruthless Foreign Gangsters: The Huevos, a gang of Spanish guys who appear briefly and only have a brief involvement in the plot.
  • Throwing the Fight: Big Bad Frank forces Jason to do this in the opening of the game. Unfortunately a rival crime lord asks Jason's opponent to take a dive before Jason can.
