Fishkeeper is a virtual pet/aquarium simulator game developed and published by Blinclick Games and released to Early Access in December 2020. In this game the player thake the role of an aquarist who is tasked with building aquariums for other customers as well as maintaining them. The game also has an open-world sandbox to allow the player to simply jump in and begin building their own aquariums.The game combines a building simulator with a virtual pet. While the player has to meet the needs of customers who have ordered an aquarium to assemble in accordance with a personal budget they also need to meet the needs of the fish in the aquarium including making sure they are fed and making sure the aquarium is cleaned to ensure that fish in the aquarium don't die and also reproduce adequately.
The game also features a first-person view mode where they can pilot a bathysphere inside of the tank to get a first-person look at the inside of the aquarium.
This game provides examples of:
- Artistic License – Biology: Fully averted. The player must take proper care of all the fish including making sure they are fed and cleaning the tank. In addition freshwater fish must be in a freshwater tank and saltwater fish in a saltwater tank.
- First Person Snap Shooter: The game's view mode allows the player to control a submarine that can move around the tank and take pictures of the environment within.
- Virtual Pet: An entire virtual aquarium and one of the game's goals is always to ensure the proper care of the fish.
- Wide-Open Sandbox: In sandbox mode the player can build their own aquarium without specifications set by customers such as in the game's career mode.
- Work Info Title: You work as a fish keeper that is tasked with building aquariums for others and teaching them how to maintain them.
