Fireboy and Watergirl is a series of indie, two-player puzzle-platformer games created by Oslo Albet in 2009.

The series has the main gimmick that the two characters to control, Fireboy and Watergirl, die if they touch the opposite element, so Fireboy dies if he touches water, Watergirl dies if she touches lava, and both can't touch the green goo or else they will die.

The series so far has had six games: The Forest Temple, The Light Temple, The Ice Temple, The Crystal Temple, Elements, and Fairy Tales.

All games are playable at Coolmath Games.

Tropes seen in this series:

  • Fairy Companion: In the sixth game, Fairy Tales, the main duo is joined by fairies, who help them beat the levels.
  • Fire Is Masculine: One of the main characters in the series, Fireboy, is a boy made of fire.
  • Fire/Water Juxtaposition: Fireboy and Watergirl, Fireboy is a boy made of fire and Watergirl is a girl made of water.
  • No Plot? No Problem!: These games really have no story, focusing entirely on gameplay.
  • Teamwork Puzzle Game: Fireboy and Watergirl will have to work together to overcome the different puzzles in the games.
  • Voice Grunting: Fireboy and Watergirl do this when they jump or die.
  • Water Is Womanly: One of the main characters in the series, Watergirl, is a girl made of water.
