Tropes in the Fabulous series

Fabulous in general

  • Daydream Surprise: Used frequently from High School Reunion onward.
  • Denser and Wackier: Downplayed, but this series is less down-to-earth and family-oriented than Delicious.
  • Good Angel, Bad Angel: Part of Angela's adventures, always applying to Angela herself. While the earlier games had them be emoji-shaped, ever since Wedding Disaster they've been represented as miniature versions of Angela herself.

Sweet Revenge

Fashion Fever

High School Reunion

  • Book Ends: The game starts and ends with a teenage girl coming into Victoria's looking for a prom dress.
  • Curse Cut Short: At the end of Level 57, Janet is cut off from being about to call the prison a "hellhole".
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Large Marge is briefly featured at the end of Level 10 before she's properly introduced in Level 51.
  • Faint in Shock:
    • Principal Morgan faints at the end of level 40 when it's revealed that Janet is pregnant.
    • The Warden of Snuggford Prison (Same person as Principal Morgan) when he finds out that his own daughter is a prisoner!
  • Formerly Fat: Virginia, one of Angela's friends, used to be fat in high school before slimming down.
  • How We Got Here: After the end of Level 10, we build up to how and why Angela ended up in prison.
  • Imagine Spot: Angela gets these aplenty, and they all involve Janet.
  • Mistaken for Pregnant: Throughout the Prom, Keith thought Angela was pregnant with Matt's baby. It was Janet.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: When Angela reveals the truth about Janet's pregnancy, the former succeeds in getting the high school closed down due to lack of enrollment thanks to the awards being stripped from said high school.
  • Precision F-Strike: One moment in Level 49 has Janet outright calling Angela a bitch (censored with asterisks, of course); it wasn't censored in other language versions, however, causing High School Reunion to be the first Gamehouse Original Story Game to include an uncensored rude word.
    Janet: ANGELA knows? That BITCH!
  • Prison Episode: Briefly at the end of Level 10, and exactly Levels 50-59.
  • Shoot the Shaggy Dog: A lighter, non-creature variant; the reunion prom party that was hosted at a high school that was set to be torn down by the city? A fire ends up destroying the building anyway, and Angela and Janet are thrown into prison for a while because of it.
  • Shout-Out: In the final levels, we get one to Orange Is the New Black. Doubles as Stealth Pun.
  • Spinning Paper: At the start of Level 21, and at the ends of Levels 40 and 50.
  • Spoiler Cover: The main promo shows Angela in a prison cell.
  • Teen Pregnancy: How Janet became pregnant with Chloe.
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: Teenage Janet during some moments in the high school levels, due to Morning Sickness.
  • Who's Your Daddy?: Chloe spends some time during the Reunion trying to figure out who her father is. It's Matt Miller.

Wedding Disaster

  • Company Cameo: The model dress-up section has a hoodie with the GameHouse logo on it.
  • Race for Your Love: Fran for Caroline when she decides to take a flight out of the city.
  • Shout-Out: The model dress-up section has a shirt with the logo for Blue Giraffe Gamesnote  on it.
