Eyra The Crow Maiden is a Retraux Homebrew Action Platform Game by Second Dimension.
Eyre is the warrior priestess of a tribe of barbarians that live in a peaceful land. One night, their city is invaded by The Infernal Marauder, who defeated all the soldiers of the city with his dark forces. He then spirited them all away to a far land to experiment on them with forbidden powers from another dimension.
Not content to let this stand, Eyra is dispatched to venture after the villain and rescue her tribe's men. With the help of the crows, especially one crow who was trained in battle, Eyra sets out on her quest.
The game was funded on Kickstarter on March 16th, 2020. It was released on September of 2020. It's available for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and Sega Genesis.
Eyra The Crow Maiden contains examples of:
- 100% Completion: Finding all six hostages in each level.
- Action Girl: Eyra, who battles her way through hordes of enemies to save the men of her tribe.
- Attack Animal: Eyra can throw her crow at enemies as an attack.
- Big Bad: The Infernal Marauder, who kicked off the plot of the game by taking all the men of Eyra's tribe prisoner.
- Dem Bones: Plenty of enemies in the game are skeletons.
- Distressed Dude: The men of Eyra's tribe, who were all taken prisoner by the Infernal Marauder.
- Item-Drop Mechanic: Enemies and crows drop items when defeated. What they drop can vary.
- Nubile Savage: Eyra is very thin and attractive for someone who's supposed to be a warrior priestess from a tribe of barbarians.
- Retraux: The game is rendered in 8 and 16-bit.
