Eyewitness Virtual Reality is a series of Edutainment Games released by Dorling Kindersley that is based on their Eyewitness TV show, to the point of reusing the show's intro.

The games are Point And Click Games where players navigate around one of various museums that have layouts based on the Eyewitness eye logo. The museums contain kiosks that teach players about the main topics of each game. At least one room in each museum has an elaborate puzzle quest that tests players on the factoids they learn from the kiosks.

The games of the series include:

  • Birds
  • Cats
  • Dinosaur Hunter
  • Earth Quest

Tropes include:

  • Fossil Revival: Dinosaur Hunter has a mode where you can dig up dinosaur fossils and then reassemble the skeletons. After doing so, the dinosaurs will come back to life and randomly wander the museum.
  • Mishmash Museum: The intro video taken from the Eyewitness TV show features the same highly eclectic museum seen there. Downplayed with the explorable in-game museums, which are centered on the specific theme of each game and far less hodgepodge, but which still feature oddities like the Birds museum putting an eagle-topped totem pole and a statue of a bird-headed Egyptian deity in the midst of pictures and displays of flesh-and-blood birds.
  • White Void Room: Birds and Cats evoke this classic feature of both the original books and the TV show by taking place in museums with stark white walls and ceilings. Averted with Dinosaur Hunter and Earth Quest, whose museums are designed to look likely richly textured, darkly lit caves.
