Evil Nun is a Survival Horror Room Escape Game series developed by Keplerians.
You are a child that is kept prisoner in a not-so-pleasant school operated by a volatile nun by the name of Sister Madeline. The goal is to find every possible way to escape from her...and maybe rescue other children that are imprisoned somewhere in the school as well.
Evil Nun 2: Origin, a prequel, follows a different child who has to escape the clutches of Sister Madeline before she uses them for evil rituals. It won't be easy because she has help tracking down problematic children.
Evil Nun: The Broken Mask follows the same formula as the first game, but with improved graphics.
Evil Nun and its series wants these tropes to be good:
- Alone with the Psycho: You are in a run-down school alone with a psychotic nun chasing you down with a hammer to "discipline" you.
- Antagonist Title: Sister Madeline is referred to as the Evil Nun.
- Cower Power: Hiding in closets, lockers and cabinets are your best bet on avoiding Sister Madeline's wrath.
- Nightmare Face: Sister Madeline, with her red eyes and hideous grin larger than normal.
- Nuns Are Spooky: Sister Madeline, especially with her ragged nun habit, glowing red eyes and her contorted grin.
- Old School Building: Eagle's Junior High School is a very old building with occult rituals and a vengeful nun running the place - oh, and the children are imprisoned there.
- Video-Game Lives: You only have five days to find a way to escape EJHS and the nun who runs the place.
Tropes specific to Evil Nun 2
- Deal with the Devil: In the Secret Ending, Madeline makes a deal with the demon Nazret to bring back her daughter, Elisa.
- Prequel: Evil Nun 2 takes place sometime prior to Evil Nun proper, when Sister Madeline was once a normal woman (but still a threat to escape).
- Time Bomb: One of the possible methods to incapacitate Sister Madeline and her mutant chicken minions is with a bomb that goes off after a couple seconds.
