In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only ganking.

Dark Nexus:Arena is a MOBA game developed by Whitebox Interactive, based on Games Workshops Warhammer 40,000. The game was slated for a 2016 release for PC but was canceled after early access.

This game provides examples of the following:

  • Cannon Fodder: Each of the teams "creeps", since they fall very easily.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: The reason how the Dark Eldar have somehow managed to capture such legendary figures such Darnath Lysander, Kharn the Betrayer and Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka to name a few. Granted, they are merely just skins for the veterans, but still.
  • Gladiator Games: The playable characters are from various factions and races, captured and forced to fight other combatants to the death for the entertainment of the dark citizens of Commarragh.
  • Mini-Boss: The Kronos Pylons are stated to be ones. Though they are stationary, they actually deal a good amount of damage to champions, but destroying one would give a big amount of victory points to the teams score.
  • Mythology Gag: Kharn the Betrayer is given an Eastern-European accent, just like what he has in his appearances on a couple 40k Audio Dramas featuring him.
  • No Name Given: The veterans did not have any actual names other the ones from their professions. For instance, the Ork Mega-Nob was called just that.
