DON'T LOOK AWAY is a 2022 Asymmetric Multiplayer Survival Horror game developed by DMNT Interactive. The game pits four nameless humans against The Entity, a demonic force capable of possessing five mannequins scattered around the map. If any of the mannequins touch the humans, they instantly die a painful death, with the only defense being that the mannequins Can't Move While Being Watched. But this only protects the humans for so long and they must find and destroy the five demonic spirals scattered around the map and then escape before the Entity manages to kill them all.

The game is currently in Early Access and available through Steam.


DON'T LOOK AWAY contains examples of:

  • Asymmetric Multiplayer: The game pits up to four players controlling the humans against a single player as the Entity.
  • Body Horror: If the Entity manages to touch one of the humans, the player is treated a horrifying cutscene as the character's limbs contort and break in a way that quickly kills them.
  • Can't Move While Being Watched: The main conceit of the game is that the Entity cannot move while the humans are directly looking at a mannequin it is possessing. However, each of the mannequins has a "frustration meter" that fills up while they're frozen. Once filled, the mannequin can activate a rage state that lets them move freely for a short time.
  • Demonic Possession: The Entity is implied to be an intangible force that is possessing the mannequins.
  • Geometric Magic: The survivors are unable to leave the map as long as the spiral symbols that have been drawn in random places across the map are intact.
  • Infinite Flashlight: The flashlight each of the humans carry works for as long as the match does, only flickering as a warning that one of the mannequins has entered a rage state.
  • Innate Night Vision: The darkness of the maps proves no hinderance to the Entity, who can see fine, though in black and white.
  • Invisibility Flicker: If the humans shine a light at the Entity while it is invisible, it appears as a flickering shadow.
  • Invisibility with Drawbacks: The Entity can turn a mannequin invisible in an instant, which allows it to run faster, jump and remove need to freeze while being observed. However, the Entity cannot attack while invisible, cannot switch between states while being observed, and can be partially seen if the humans shine a light at it.
  • Murderous Mannequin: Each game has the humans facing five of these, though only one is active at any given moment.
  • Survival Horror: The Survivors have no hope of actually defeating the Entity and are ultimately only looking to escape it. Their only defense against the Entity, which can otherwise kill them with a touch, is that it Can't Move While Being Watched. Most of the time.
