ClueSweeper is an Adobe Flash game developed by Nerdook and released in 2010. The goal is investigating murders in the city of New Eden by going to different areas and finding clues on a board by clicking on them based on numbers shown on neighboring tiles. If you run out of time or are confident the clues you have are good enough, select the murderer from the list of suspects. Once you solve a case, you receive money that can be spent on upgrades. After you've solved all cases, you can take on the finale in the warehouse and discover who's behind everything.

Playable on Kongregate, as well as other sites.

This game provides examples of:

  • Achievement System: There are 15 achievements to be earned, generally for solving cases. Most of them only apply to those with three stars or more, though.
  • The Butler Did It: The butler can indeed be the culprit.
  • Covert Pervert: One of the possible suspect traits is "Closet Pervert".
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: One of the suspects in the final case is a CEO. He is often implicated in something, and can be the criminal mastermind.
  • End-Game Results Screen: The ending screen shows how many days it took.
  • Endless Game: Endless mode lets you play a neverending series of cases until you accuse the wrong suspect.
  • If I Can't Have You…: If the lover turns out to be the murderer, especially if they're also obsessed with the victim.
  • Lady in Red: Miss Scallop (Miss Scarlet in some versions, such as the Kongregate version, and a Captain Ersatz of the similarly named Clue character) is a curvy woman in a red dress who talks with you before each investigation and is even labelled with the trope name.
  • Lie Detector: You can buy one of these so that red herrings cost an additional penalty of 1 time unit instead of an additional penalty of 3 time units without a lie detector when found.
  • Money Multiplier: A High Profile guarantees an additional 1$ from empty but numbered tiles.
  • Must Have Nicotine: One of the normal suspect traits is "Chain Smoker". One of the final case suspect traits is "Cigar Smoker".
  • Red Herring: There is a chance you'll find a red herring, which costs investigation time. These are not counted on neighboring tiles.
  • Sinister Minister: One of the suspects in the final case is a minister. He is often implicated in something, and can be the criminal mastermind. Also, one of the possible traits in the final case is "A Secret Cult Leader".
  • Stealing from the Till: One of the possible traits in the final case is "Embezzling Money".
  • Tilesweeper: The game mostly plays like Minesweeper with elements of Clue thrown in. You are a detective investigating a murder with multiple suspects and clicking on the correct tiles reveals information about the murderer or one of the suspects, which you must cross-reference to figure out who committed the crime.
  • The Very Definitely Final Dungeon: One of the locations is marked as the finale and has a crown icon, it focuses on the Criminal Mastermind who's behind the other cases, plus the suspects' all have high-positioned titles instead of random ones (Commisioner, Tycoon, General, Socialite, CEO, and Major):
Miss Scarlet: All of the previous subjects were working for somebody high up in the city!
  • White-Collar Crime: One of the possible traits in the final case is "Running a Massive Scam".
