Chaos Faction is a 2006 Flash Platform Fighter created by Dissolute Productions. There is absolutely zero plot other than "kill your enemies". A sequel was released in 2010.

Chaos Faction contains examples of:

  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: Gorilli, who is a initial character in the first game and a Secret Character in the second.
  • Defeat Means Playable: Completing stages in single player in both games nets you additional characters.
  • Explosive Stupidity: Can and will happen thanks to the fact that explosive weapons do not discriminate. If you're lucky you'll nab an enemy or two in the blast.
  • Guest Fighter:
  • Harmless Freezing: Downplayed: while it doesn't actually kill, it leaves you a sitting duck for others to wail on until you thaw out. And considering that this is Chaos Faction...
  • Hockey Mask and Chainsaw: Any character that grabs a chainsaw automatically don a hockey mask.
  • Hold the Line: Lava Palaver in Chaos Faction 2 requires you to survive for a single minute.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Although many weapons are, well, weapons actually intended for fighting, characters may additionally use mousetraps, rakes and even a trout in combat.
  • Inconveniently-Placed Conveyor Belt: The main gimmick of Crate Factory in 2 is the frequent activation of conveyor belts which send fighters careening in different directions and potentially off the stage.
  • Interface Screw: Getting hit by a Chicken's egg in 2 reverses controls.
  • Level Editor: A feature present in both games, with the player able to create up to 4 stages via placing down platforms and walls.
  • Life Drain: The "Health Leech" weapon in 2 allows you to heal your own health by biting into others. Fittingly, to unlock the weapon you have to kill a vampire.
  • Limit Break: In 2, accomplishing five hits in a row without taking damage yourself causes your character to glow red, during which they can execute a One-Hit Kill Rage Attack.
  • No Plot? No Problem!: The first Chaos Faction game had no plot whatsoever other than, 'just beat the crap out of your opponents.' Chaos Faction 2 had a miniscule subplot revolving around the Big Bad, Vortigon, returning, but it too focused much more on the actual combat, other than the stage-specific scenarios.
  • One-Hit Kill:
    • Some weapons, such as the Cannon, Dark Energy and the Homing Missile deal enough damage and/or knockback to kill in a single blow.
    • Rage Attacks additionally more often than not kill instantly should they connect.
  • One-Winged Angel: Vortigon returns in Chaos Faction 2 as Hypergon.
  • Pirate: Captain Black, who appears in both games, has the hat, pirate-themed stages and association with cannons befitting a pirate.
  • Recycled Soundtrack: A few of the first game's stages have tracks lifted directly from Atomic Bomberman. Averted in the second game, where all of the music is originally composed.
  • Rise to the Challenge: The first section of Chaos Tower in 2 involves you climbing said tower while being harassed by Minigons.
  • Rocket-Tag Gameplay: Considering the sheer amount of weapons that can instantly kill, this is the bread and butter of both games.
  • Timed Mission: Both Scaffold Scuffle and Crate Factory in Chaos Faction 2 require you to kill all of the enemies before time runs out. Fail to do so, and it's Game Over.
  • The Very Definitely Final Dungeon: Universe City in 1 and Chaos Tower in 2. Both of them play up the Astral Finale in their background and music, and both are only unlocked once all other 14 stages have been completed.
  • Winged Soul Flies Off at Death: Die in 1 and if the body is intact and you're able to respawn, this is how it disappears.
