C.A.R.L. is an action platformer game developed by Andrew Kenady and Morningstar Game Studio (A Robot Named Fight!). Putting the player in the role of the titular Computer-Automated Resource Locator, Carl sets off on a journey to uncover and foil the evil plans of Dr. James Kent and his mechanized army by invading his industrial complex.
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Pretty much every robot in the D.U.M.P. and the main character himself are positive examples! When Dr. Kent abandoned them or went too far, they rebelled against him. And for a negative example, there's K.E.N.T., who corrupted Dr. Kent with its own megalomania.
- Colossus Climb: The finale involves scaling MechaKent to disable its movement and reach Kent's inner sanctum again.
- Cybernetics Eat Your Soul: Dr. Kent developed an AI implant named K.E.N.T. to enhance his intelligence. Said implant proceeded to corrupt his mind into seeking world domination.
- Double Unlock: In order to access weapon or ability upgrades, Carl first needs to collect medals/blueprints, then pay Sarge or Doc for them. Thankfully, installing health tanks is free.
- Embarrassing Initials: Doc asks that you don't refer to him as the Free-roaming Automated Repair Technician.
- Eye Scream: Dr. Kent does this to himself to free himself of K.E.N.T.'s influence. Good thing he had an eyepatch on standby.
- Fun with Acronyms: Every robot character's name is made out of an acronym that describes what they do. Well, all except Doc.
- Humongous Mecha: The entire Kent Industries compound is actually a massive mecha.
- Mirror Boss: The Disc-One Final Boss H.E.R.B. is a Carl duplicate, complete with the same moves.
- Mission Control: Dr. Brent serves this role, advising Carl on what to do and upgrading him after defeating a boss.
