A 1991 Platform Game for the Sega Master System, based on Asterix.

The plot is that Getafix the Village Druid has been captured by Caesar's legionnaires, and without him to brew more magic potions, the Gaul Village will eventually fall to the Roman Empire. With potion supplies dwindling, the village chief Vitalstatistix sends Asterix and Obelix on a mission to retrieve Getafix.

The game is a 2D Platformer. You can choose between Asterix or Obelix as you move, jump, and bash enemies and overcome obstacles. The game is split up into seven rounds, with three stages in each. Asterix and Obelix each have their own special skills and abilities, Asterix is smaller and quicker, but needs bombs to get through walls, while Obelix is larger and slower, but can bash through blocks easily by punching them and can toss rocks.

Their abilities aren't the only difference between them, because Asterix and Obelix each have their own unique levels that they go through, and are specially designed to their abilities. For instance, Round 1-2 as Asterix is not the same level as Round 1-2 played by Obelix. Dogmatix comes along for the adventure with his own bonus stages.

This game contains examples of:

  • Bonus Stage: You play as Dogmatix in a minigame where he jumps on bubbles to break them.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: Your hero can knock enemies out with a simple punch attack.
  • Goomba Stomp: Zigzagged. Asterix and Obelix can attack enemies by landing on them, but they have to actually attack mid-jump in order to kill enemies by jumping on them. They get hurt otherwise if the player doesn't push the attack button after jumping. Asterix will aim his fist below him while Obelix performs a Ground Pound.
  • Ground Pound: Obelix's jump attack lets him slam through blocks by crash-landing down on them.
  • The Lost Woods: Round 1 takes place in the Woods.
  • Mighty Glacier: Obelix, naturally. He's slower than Asterix and is a lumbering larger target, but at the same time, he can perform a Ground Pound and can effortlessly bust through blocks that Asterix would need explosives to get through.
  • Temporary Platform: A special potion that when thrown, can create platforms for the heroes to walk over harmful terrain like lava and Sewage.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: Asterix uses explosive potions that allow him to break blocks and open pathways.
  • Timed Mission: All of the levels have a time limit.
