Alder's Blood is a stealth, tactical turn-based game set in a grim world, where the nature stood against humanity and repelled the civilization. The Player starts as the Chief to the clan of Hunters who use their supernatural cunning and strength to protect the rest of the humanity from the roaming monsters.
Free prequel Alder's Blood: Prologue was uploaded to Newgrounds on January 30th, 2020 and to Steam and GOG.com on February 12th, 2020. Adler's Blood was fully released to Nintendo Switch version was released on March 13th, 2020 and to other platforms on April 10th, 2020.
Tropes in Alder's Blood:
- Achievement Mockery: Many of them are awarded for being spotted, attacked or killed by the monsters Hunters were sent to vanquish.
- Doomed Hometown: The prologue shows the aftermath of the hometown, the residents being killed by monsters.
- Eye Scream: This had happened to Duke before the Hunters found him
- God Is Dead: And the inhuman abominations that haunt the lands were born of His corpse. Also, the reason Hunters came to life.
- Throwing the Distraction: Used in the prologue. It creates a short-radius sound that attracts enemies.
- Visible Odor: In the prologue, the character's scent is displayed. Monsters within the scent line will become suspicious and head to the player's last location.
