A Normal Camping Story is a Roblox game made by Br0kenT04st that parodies various Camping games made by SamsonXVI. In there, after somehow arriving to Spooky Woods somehow via elevator, they are greeted by Jerry, who offers to go camping with them. However, not as all as it seems, because of some twists that the story makes to the Camping genre...

A Normal Camping Story provides examples of:

  • Achievement Mockery: One of the badges of the game calls the camper out for abandoning Bob to the killer.
  • Affectionate Parody: Of Camping by SamsonXVI, as it parodies and subverts the tropes made by the game.
  • Bait-and-Switch: While a monster named Bob does appear to threaten the campers... It turns out his leash was loose and he's overall nice.
  • Big Bad: The Killer/Mark, as he is trying to murder the campers by night. In truth, he's trying to make a horror game that will surpass Adopt Me! in popularity through unsavory means.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Bob, if let in, attempts to save the campers and Jerry from the time bomb. Unfortunately, due to him opening the door because he was locked out of the fact that the door is linked to the bomb, and second, that the ducky is an actual bomb, this results in them being blown up, much to Mark's horror.
    • On the True Ending, this is played straight, as he manages to shoot Mark from behind. However, due to the game mechanics, Mark is able to revive for 15 Robux.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Jerry makes some references to the game mechanics, such as being unable to sleep and thus unable to progress the game if his teddy bear is not obtained, and mentioning having bought a torch for 10 Robux.
  • Bribing Your Way to Victory: As per standard, the game features some passes which allow an easier playthrough of the game.
  • But Thou Must!: Jerry forces the campers to get his teddy bear, aside from not believing that there is a killer on the loose, he also says that the game will not progress if he is unable to sleep.
  • Canon Character All Along: The Killer is revealed to be Mark, who teamed with Jerry to make a horror game. Afterwards, in the True Ending, he decides to go to a beach, which any player may notice is a reference to Br0kenT04st's Beach Story, in which Jake appeared as a character.
  • Creator Cameo: Br0kenT04st makes one at all the endings, and his dialogue depends on whether you obtained the True Ending or not. He's also the provider of both Mark and Bob's weapons.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: The campers react negatively to Jerry's attempts to scare them by jokingly saying that the sandwiches they ate were poisoned.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: The Killer can be seen using the restroom, reading a book called How to be a Killer while taking a restroom break.
  • Foreshadowing: See the above mentioned thing about the Killer using the restroom? This foreshadows the Killer's actual motives.
    • Also, Jerry talking about game mechanics sometimes. Likewise, it also foreshadows his true motives.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Bob is most definitely a generic name for a monster.
  • Genre Savvy: The Killer seems to be more intelligent compared to other killers in the Camping series and its imitators, as not only he actually throws his knife, but also packs an assault rifle to shoot the campers the second time they meet.
  • Gone Horribly Wrong: The Bad and Sad Endings involve Mark attempting to blackmail the campers under a false threat to make their horror game popular. However, because the duck was an actual bomb, this results in Jerry, the campers and potentially Bob to be blown up, much to his horror.
  • It Will Never Catch On: The True Ending has Jerry doubting that Camping would be a successful game.
  • Karma Houdini: Mark gets away with not only potentially killing the campers, but also killing Bob in the Good Ending.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: In the True Ending, not only is Mark shot by Bob for threatening the campers, but both Jerry and Mark also loses Bob to SamsonXVI for his game Camping.
  • Last Episode, New Character: SamsonXVI makes a brief cameo in the game, announcing his development of the game Camping and also inviting Bob to act as the Son/Monster for the game.
  • Lighter and Softer: Compared to Br0kenT04st's previous Camping game Beach Story, this game is mostly a parody of Camping games and features few actual deaths that can be averted in certain endings.
  • The Load: Jerry, during the sequence where you gather logs for the campfire, which they call him out for. He does actually help... by delivering a single log that was near him. That being said, he does provide the location for the logs should a certain amount of time pass.
  • Mean Character, Nice Actor: While "mean" is hardly a description for the Son/Monster who is unwilling to see others get hurt, his actor Bob is overall a nice monster.
  • Multiple Endings: As expected for a Camping parody.
    • Sad Ending: Bob attempts to rescue the campers and Jerry, but unwittingly activates the ducky bomb. Mark is informed too late that the ducky was an actual bomb.
    • Bad Ending: Same as above, but Mark detonates the ducky bomb. Unlike the above, however, he only gets the call after he detonates the bomb.
    • Good Ending: After surviving the massive barrage by the Killer, Jerry reveals the Killer's true identity as Mark, and he reveals that he made the whole thing to make a good horror game, with their weapons being supplied by Br0kenT04st. Afterwards, the credits roll.
    • True Ending: Same as above, but after Mark reveals his motives, he is shot from the back by Bob. He later revives at the cost of 15 Robux, whom he and Jerry lampoon upon. Afterwards, SamsonXVI announces his new game Camping, which is ridiculed by Mark. SamsonXVI later invites Bob to his game to play the role of the Son/Monster, to which he agrees to. After this, Mark decides to go to the beach, and asks Jerry to follow, but he declines.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: A literal case with Bob. In spite of his creepy form, he's overall nice.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Mark decides to head to the beach after the events of the True Ending.
  • Spoiling Shout-Out: The True Ending reveals the identity of the Monster from Camping.
  • Tempting Fate: During the part where the campers have to cross an obby, Jerry proclaims that he is a Obby Master. Two guesses on what happens next. Thankfully, he revives at the cost of 15 Robux.
  • What the Hell, Player?: The game does not refuse to show how you played a part in Bob's death if you refuse to let him in.
