The King and His Minister

When no candidates show up to become The Hero to defeat the Demon King, the feeble King decides to solve the problem himself. After he leaves his Minister in-charge, several of the Kingdoms' Knights decide to launch a coup to steal the Kings' wealth now that The King is gone.<br><br>Cut to later where the Minister had turned the Knights into Stone statues, and The King had already defeated the Demon King and is playing a game of Chess with his severed head.
