Heroic Step Towards the Portal

Evil Morty decides to open a portal to deal with Rick Prime and tells Morty "Come or don't. I don't care," and leaves. Morty considers it for a moment then takes a decisive step towards the portal, only for it to close on him, leaving him stranded and unsure about what to do. Evil Morty then reopens the portal, and tells Morty he thought he was going to follow him. Morty defensively declares that he actually was and was trying to do a whole thing with taking a heroic step forwards before the portal closed on him.
