John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr. (November 25, 1960 - July 16, 1999) was an American lawyer and magazine publisher who was the son of president John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy.
He was married to Carolyn Bessette. His sister is Caroline Kennedy.
Kennedy, along with his wife and sister-in-law, died in a plane crash in 1999 at the age of 38 near Martha's Vineyard.
Note: He was nicknamed "John John" by the media, but this putative nickname came from a reporter who misheard his father calling him "John" twice in quick succession; the name was not used by his family nor anyone who knew him.
