Trivia / Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger vs. Go-Busters

Go To

  • Prop Recycling: The Neo-Messiah costume is the reused costume of Messiah Cell with some parts recoloured purple. Justified since he's an embodiment clone.
  • Role Reprise: Amazingly manages to avert the Fake Shemp trope for this larger than usual crossover. This movie has the least number of replaced actors for a Sentai film with more than 2 teams. Out of all 5 teams and 25 transformed Rangers (26 if Yayoi is counted as an untransformed Ranger and 27 if Enter is counted as an evil Ranger), only Ranru Itsuki (Abare Yellow), who retired from acting a few years prior, is uncredited.note  The Kyoryugers, Go-Busters, Geki, Ryouga, and Yukito appear out of costume while the rest of the Zyurangers and the ToQgers are voiced by their original actors (although strictly speaking, it’s only a reprise for the Go-Busters, Abarangers, and Zyurangers).
  • Uncredited Role: Aiko Ito reprising her role as Ranru. Interestingly enough, this wasn't revealed until the official Twitter account for the Abaranger 20th anniversary movie revealed she did indeed reprise her role.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Initially, it was planned to join Kyoryuger with Zyuranger and Abaranger in the Summer Movie, but the 30-minute runtime was deemed to be insufficient for such an event so it was pushed to the Vs. movie.
    • Koichi Sakamoto revealed in an interview for the theatre pamphlet that Neo-Grifforzer’s role in the movie was originally intended for a different character who would have been the daughter of Witch Bandora.
    • In an issue of Hobby Japan, Riku Sanjō mentioned that his original plan for the climax would have had Red Buster’s CB-01 Cheetah be the piece that unites the power of the three dino teams’ robots together, but it was replaced with Tategami Li-Oh in the movie proper after he prepared processed images of it based on the toys to illustrate his idea and found that CB-01 wouldn’t work as well as he hoped.
    • Ressha Sentai ToQger producer Takaaki Utsunomiya planned on having the ToQgersEarly-Bird Cameo scene be directed by Shōjirō Nakazawa, who directed the first two episodes of the season proper, but Sakamoto insisted on directing that part of the movie himself as well, citing that he had previously done so for Kamen Rider Wizard’s debut in the Fourze movie.
  • Word of God: In an interview, Sakamoto mentioned that the Kyoryugers’ Evil Makeover in this movie draws influence from his previous work on Special Mercenary Unit NEVER from the Kamen Rider Double summer movie.
