• Completely Different Title: The Spanish release of this film loosely translates to The Students Have Fun.
• Dawson Casting: Scott Baio and Willie Aames were both 21 during filming, while Heather Thomas was 24. Averted with Felice Schachter, who turned 18 during filming. Quite a few of the extras at the prom also look to be on the far side of 20, even 25 in some cases.
• Troubled Production: Heather Thomas had serious reservations about filming her nude scenes. In post-production, the filmmakers used a body double for Thomas's topless scene at the prom, and pasted her head onto a topless body double in a photograph in the movie. These changes prompted Thomas to file a complaint with the Screen Actors Guild.
• Working Title: Originally filmed under the title The Wiz Kid, but changed when a kid-friendly TV series called Wiz Kids was being filmed at the same time and the producers were worried of a confused association by parents.
