Trivia / Young Indiana Jones And The Mystery Of The Blues

  • What Could Have Been: The original plan for this episode was for it to have been broadcast in two parts, entitled "Chicago, April 1920" and "Chicago, May 1920" — with the first one covering Indy befriending Sidney Bechet and learning about jazz, and the second covering the investigation into the murder of "Big Jim" Colosimo. These were to have been bookended by scenes with Old Indy (played by George Hall) talking about jazz with his grandson Spike, who is in a band. These scenes were filmed, and were actually broadcast in the United Kingdom where the episode was split into the two parts. In the USA and elsewhere, though, the Old Indy scenes were dropped in favour of the bookends with Harrison Ford, and the episode became a feature-length TV movie which required hardly any editing when The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles was re-edited into The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones.
