- Acclaimed Flop:
- Despite being praised by reviewers for a step-up in graphics, gameplay, etc., Yo-kai Watch 4 has the worst sales in the series so far; largely due to the hype building for its direct competitor Pokémon Sword and Shield, which would be released just a few months later. Overall, it sold just 200,000 copies in Japan compared to Sword and Shield, which sold eight times that in that same country in under a month.
- The 4++ re-release fared way worse. The Switch version sold a little over 10k, though a lot of that is likely due to the extra content being available as DLC. However, the PlayStation 4 version (which marked the first time Yo-kai Watch showed up on a Sony console) sold less than 3,000 copies.
- Creator-Driven Successor: To Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. Due to switching to a pure Action RPG approach, this game will likely be the closest Ni No Kuni 1 sequel fans will get due to its combat system, given what little of the gameplay has been seen so far.
- Feelies: The Japanese release of the game comes with two Arks that can be used to unlock the item Triple Nyan Claw.
- No Export for You: Despite Level-5 hinting at an international release happening at some point, nothing has come out since its original release in 2019. With Level-5's American division practically shutting down in 2020 due to Yo-kai's failure in the US and Europe, it’s likely an official localization of the game will never happen.
