  • Acting for Two:
    • Catherine Disher voices Storm, Psylocke and Spiral.
    • Cal Dodd voices Wolverine and Iceman.
    • George Buza voices Omega Red, Colossus, Juggernaut, Magneto, and the announcer.
  • Descended Creator: Game programmer Yasushi "Ike-Bomb" Ikeda as Silver Samurai.
  • No Export for You: The MS-DOS and PlayStation versions were not released in Japan.
  • Role Reprise: Cal Dodd and Norm Spencer reprise the roles of Wolverine and Cyclops from X-Men: The Animated Series.
  • Studio Hop: Only the arcade version was developed and published by Capcom worldwide. The Western home console versions were published by Acclaim Entertainment (the Japanese Sega Saturn version was published by Capcom) with Rutubo Games as the developer of the Saturn version and Probe Entertainment as the developer of the PlayStation and MS-DOS versions.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • An earlier version of the game had a female Acolyte with Exodus and the others. She was removed in later versions.
    • At one point, Colossus' ending could have actually been a choice similarly to the events of Fatal Attractions where you could choose not to go with Magneto or to do so.
    • The Japanese exclusive version 1.00 (revision 941208) of the arcade game features Magneto original AI difficulty, which is significantly easier compared to later revisions. In this version:
      • His AI doesn't spam special attacks nearly as often as he does in later revisions.
      • Special attacks inflict much less damage.
      • His EM Pulse only fires a single stream of energy, whereas in later revisions, he shoots three streams.
      • He refrains from utilizing his flying move, a contrast to his behavior in future revisions. If one uses cheats to play as him, it becomes apparent that he cannot ascend to the top of the screen unless the opponent executes a super jump. Moreover, the moment the opponent descends to the ground, Magneto will fall back to the ground too.
