- Enforced Method Acting:
- During the filming of the first installment, Desmond Harrington broke his ankle during the escape from the hillbillies' cabin. It was worked into the film with Harrington's character Chris getting shot in the leg.
- In the same film, the actor who played Saw-Tooth actually got set partly on fire during the climactic battle, which was kept in the final cut.
- The Other Darrin: The recurring members of the Hillikers family are recast in each film.
