  • Shrug of God: Colin Newman is particularly tight-lipped about the meanings of his song lyrics. From the 2018 154 Special Edition liner notes, Graham Duff has this to say about the song "The 15th":
    Newman refuses to discuss meaning within most of his lyrics and the text of "The 15th" gives virtually no hints as to what the subject matter may be. [...] "It's about what it's about," says Newman. "I've never felt the need to elaborate."
