• What Could Have Been
  • The original star of the short was going to be a luchador character, but after Craig McCracken drew a birthday card for his brother with three cute, Margaret Keane-inspired little girls, he found the idea of those characters beating up giant monsters hilarious and wrote a new story around them.
  • Buttercup's name was originally Bud.
  • Four shorts were planned, but only one was produced; the other three instead became the Powerpuff Girls cartoons "Monkey See, Doggy Do", "Uh Oh, Dynamo", and The Powerpuff Girls Rule!.
  • Had the show followed the original setup of a Subverted Kids' Show, we would have gotten an adult animated show instead of the one made for children.
